Experimental

Many of the projects I work on don't neatly fit a medium or exist less as complete works than as slices of one designed to learn and for their own merit. However, many of these projects are among some of the work I'm most proud of and so I feel warrant mention.

Man V Metahuman

Whilst this animation was technically completed and released, its definitely more interesting in its process and component parts than as a completed whole.

The film was made almost entirely solo (Nat Texler co wrote the opening dialogue and my friend Sam broke a glass over my head in one shot) in my lounge room on green screen over a few days using gear borrowed from SAE.

The project was inspired by a very basic masked out attempt at shooting a fight against myself which I made during lockdown only this time the idea was to motion capture the second part and shoot it on green screen. The timing and compositing aren't fantastic and the mocap cleanup is a big wonky, but for an entirely self shot film I'd still say it was a pretty successful project. This was also my first time making and working with sugar glass.
